Model description

A set of elements for creating a model of the structure of the human ear. Among them, there are 6 models showing the anatomical elements of the ear (auricle, ear canal, eardrum, ossicles, cochlea, auditory nerve) and a set of stands and frames enabling the assembly of a spatial mock-up.

To create a mock-up you will additionally need: a glue, a piece of string, a ribbon or a wire, at least 2 small screws and a screwdriver.

The model will be especially useful in biology classes.

If you would like to get ideas and inspiration about using these models during your lessons please check out our Skriware Academy suggestions: “Structure of the Ear” Lesson: https://academy.skriware.com/lesson/93.

Model elements

The set includes 14 models to be assembled. The files in the set have been prepared so that individual elements can be printed individually or as part of two printouts.

Among the files to be printed you will find:

Single item files:

- Auditory nerve: auditory nerve model,

- Base frame: a frame mounted on the base element separating the spaces into individual models of ear elements,

- Base: a base element with names of individual ear elements,

- Cochlea support: support elements for the cochlea model,

- Cochlea: a model of cochlea,

- Ear Canal: a model of the ear canal,

- Ear: a model of the auricle,

- Eardrum membrane ring: a ring symbolizing an eardrum,

- Left frame: the left part of the model frame,

- Ossicles clip: a clip for mounting the auditory ossicles,

- Ossicles support beam: a crossbar for hanging the ossicles,

- Ossicles: an auditory ossicles model,

- Rear beam: a rear crossbar of the frame,

- Right frame: the right part of the frame.

Files with sets of several elements:

- 1 Part of whole set: the first part of the set of elements: frames, a crossbar, a clip, a frame of the eardrum, a base element, support for the cochlear and auditory nerve element,

- 2 Part of the whole set: the second part of the set of elements: lateral support, auricle, auditory nerve, cochlea, ossicles, auditory canal.

Visualization and descriptions of individual elements can be found in the model assembly instructions: [ASSEMBLY MANUAL] Structure of the ear.

Technical data

Additional information

Additional materials (glue, screws and string) are required to create a spatial mock-up. If you do not have them, you can only print individual elements of the inner structure of the ear without the stands that allow you to create a full spatial model. If you prefer to use the material this way, print only the models below:

- Auditory nerve,

- Cochlea,

- Ear Canal,

- Ear,

- Eardrum membrane ring,

- Ossicles: a model of the auditory ossicles.
