Culture: Roman Material: Bronze Dims: H 29.6cm Accession No: HCM 155 Current Location: The Hunt Museum, Limerick. This cast statue has a modern marble base, small head and unpronounced features. Hair is visible at the back of his head but the front is bald. His right hand is raised, his left forms a fist. He is wearing a toga, tunic and boots. His toga is draped over his left shoulder and falls down the left side of his back. It crosses over the front and underneath his right arm. Firing defects cover the body. The face is crudely executed and his left eye has not been cast. A repair is visible above the knees. The stance of the man indicates he was of senatorial rank. More.
