Benvenuti in Sicilia!Welcome back to Sicily, Italy! This model was designed by Manfredi Laguardia from @3dlayerup. The Castello della Zisa is an imposing Norman-era structure located in Palermo, Sicily, an Italian island. Built in the 12th century as a summer residence for the Norman kings, the castle has a particular architecture with a square base, with four cylindrical towers and a large central hall. The name "Zisa" derives from the Arabic "al-Aziz", which means "the splendid one", and the castle indeed displays a wealth of decorations and refined architectural details of Arab inspiration. Among the most notable features of the Castello della Zisa are the magnificent mosaics and majolica tiles, which decorate the walls and ceilings of the central hall. Today the Castello della Zisa has been restored and is open to the public as a museum, where it is possible to admire the splendid original decorations and discover the history and culture of Norman Sicily. Furthermore, the park surrounding the castle is a green oasis in the heart of the city. In summary, the Zisa Castle is an architectural and artistic wonder of Palermo, a place where history, culture and nature meet and blend in perfect harmony.
