Welcome to Nepal! This model was created by MiniWorld 3D founder Dany Sánchez. Boudhanath is a stupa (a buddhist mound, usually containing relics) in Kathmandu, Nepal. Located about 11 km (6.8 mi) from the center and northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu, the stupa's massive mandala makes it one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal. As of 1979, Boudha Stupa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along with Swayambhu, it is one of the most popular tourist sites in the Kathmandu area. Different Newar buddhist, Tibetan buddhist, and Hindu sources date the origin of the structure between ca. AD 400 - 600 CE. The April 2015 Nepal earthquake badly damaged Boudhanath Stupa, severely cracking the spire. It was fully repaired in 2016 (from Wikipedia). In a joint effort between MiniWorld and Pinshape, all profits from downloads of this model in Pinshape.com in 2015 were donated to UNICEF Nepal Relief. Donations were matched by government and corporate sponsors, meaning donations were tripled. If you'd like to donate more, visit UNICEF. It has been free on Pinshape and it's now available too here on MyMiniFactory. MiniWorld 3D is excited to bring this historical model to life as a homage to all the people of Nepal. This model was designed from scratch, no scans or repurposed models, so it's pristine clean for 3D printing! Please give credit, it's all about spreading culture and education!
