Material: Porcelain. Accession No: MG 117 B. Current Location: The Hunt Museum, Limerick. A porcelain cat in white with black spots and red fabric tied around the neck. The left paw is raised. Similar to MG 117 A but not made in the same period. Cats are believed to summon good luck and prosperity, and these figures are often placed by the entrance of homes and shops. A raised left paw is thought to beckon customers. 19th century AD, Arita province.  More.
