Culture: Medieval. Material: Pipe-clay (pipe-clay is a fine white clay that is mainly used for making tobacco pipes). Accession no: HCM 238. Current Location: The Hunt Museum, Limerick. A staff-head, possibly, in pipe-clay, consisting of a tube tapering towards the top and decorated with a series of bands. It is topped with a cockerel, the symbol of St Peter.
