This ankle shackle is from the collections of The Mariners’ Museum and Park (Accession Number 2003.0039). It was 3D scanned with a NextEngine Desktop 3D Scanner. This object was 3D scanned to expand the digital offerings of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities Encyclopedia Virginia related to slavery in Virginia. This scanning project is supported with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
