This sculpture appears to be an adaption of a portrait of a seated Socrates, familiarised by other replica sculptures and frescos by the painter Éphese. Attributed to Lypsippe (circa 370-300 BC) the lost original which these copies are inspired by. This variant can serve as a model of the epic philosopher Metrodorus (330-277 BC). It was sculpted in Rome.   This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free.
