Railing pillar carved in limestone (‘Palnad marble’) with lotus medallions and narrative reliefs. -Outer face: the middle medallion depicts a lotus, the upper fluted area is broken; in the lower fluted area are dancing ganas in clouds. -Inner face: in the middle medallion is the Great Departure of Prince Siddhartha from Kapilavastu; the upper fluted area is damaged but shows worshippers and possibly the Elevation of the Head-dress on the left; in the lower fluted area on the left side are flying devas with the Siddhartha’s headdress, in the centre Prince Siddhartha takes leave of Chandaka (his groom) and Kanthaka (his horse);on the right side the first sermon depicted with the wheel (dharmachakra) above a throne with a deer on each side.   This object is part of "Scan The World".
