This statue of Louise de Savoie is part of the Queens of France statues around the Luxemburg Garden. It is Jean-Baptiste Auguste Clesinger's piece, created in 1851. Louise was born on the 11th September 1476 at the Pont-d'Ain castle and died the 22nd September 1531. She is the great grandmother of the KIng of France Henri XI. She was the daughter of Philippe, Duke of Savoie. At her mothers death, she was given to her aunt, Anne de Beaujeu, daughter of the King of France Louis XI. In 1488, at 12 years old, she marries Charles d'Orleans, of whom she has two children with.
