The deceased seats on a majestic throne. A slave is holding an eilitarion (scroll), making the so-called "horns" sign with his hand (either a conversational gesture or one to avert evil, that is, apotropaic). The inscription, in Greek and Latin, is in the form of a dialog: an anonymous passerby greets the deceased, who replies. Bilingual as well as Latin inscriptions were quite rare and did not usually refer to locals.
