Grave stele made of Boeotian marble and found at Thespiai, Boeotia.  Depiction of a woman seated on a chair, wearing a chiton and a himation that also covers her head. In her right hand she holds a bird, which she offers to the figure of a child who was depicted in front of her. For some unknown reason, this figure was battered and removed when the stele was reused, at which time the inscription was incised on the cornice of the pediment.   This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free. Scan the World is an open source, community effort, if you have interesting items around you and would like to contribute, email [email protected] to find out how you can help.
