Cyzikus (Turkey), gift of Theodor Wiegand 1932Marble, around 500 BC The head with slightly slanted eyes, a smiling mouth and long hair combed over the high back of the head belongs to an Eastern Greek statue of a girl (kore). But there is no jewellery, which alongside precious garments and a contained smile generally characterised the aristocracy's image of women in the 6th century BC. This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free.
