In brief, this large bronze figurative group depicts Edmond Van Beveren (central figure, leaning on a table) giving a speech to an aurience and protected or shrouded by a personification of Belgium. Edmond Van Beveren was the founder of the dutch socialist party, founded in 1885. The Antwerp magazine 'The Worker' was also created by him.
