This is a fragment of an altar at the church of San Jacopo di Ripoli in Florence.  This fragment depicts head-portraits of three Cherubs and the Coat of Arms of the Deuzzi del Macco Simoni and Morelli.  A cherub is one of the unearthly beings who directly attend to God according to Abrahamic religions. The numerous depictions of cherubim assign them many different roles; their original duty having been the protection of the Garden of Eden.
