Gothic style mainly focused on creating buildings with the least stone walls possible – therefore they used a lot of pillars and other devices to replace walls, and leave more space for windows and light. That is why pillars and capitals were much more ornated and sophisticated than in the Romanesque style, because they participated in the particular atmosphere created in Gothic churches. This capital follows the Corinthian order.
