MOJONES OR PILLARS These kinds of pillars also called Mojones are blocks of ignimbrite in the form of animals or persons. They frequently occur in the Canas-Liberia region of Costa Rica, between 300 and 800 AD, and were utilized to mark cemeteries or placed inside the tombs as offerings. Pillars without any type of decoration have also been found.
